	Jake was burned over half his body in an explosion that killed his wife and kids. He became a vigilante hunting down those responsible for the act. Having nothing to live for but revenge he was too good at killing the 'Family'. Eventually one of thier hitmen caught up with Jake on a lonesome strip of Highway, where the fed him a full load of buckshot from a shotgun at very close range. Enigma recruited him at that moment of death. He was assigned to Track 2, during most of his carreer where he bonded strongly with Rathbone and Jessica Spring. The group was always assigned the worst cases and with the least chance of a clean resolution, but they were very good at what they did even if Enigma often felt compelled to lecture them on their methods after returning home. Jake created small arms poker when he finally figured out others were cheating when they played poker between missions. The cheating became much more sutble or stopped after that. Known for his trigger finger and eventaullly being all but immine to all forms of magic, his conitnued conflicts with Enigma over how he got things done led him to retire and leave Enigma's employ though he still finds himself unofficially dragged back for certain missions.
