BACK STORY (Situation Setup)

The Team was provided with Meta Commando Suits and equipment which was tailored to their abilities.

A carefully planned phased invasion of 'This Marvel Earth' is in process. T'sha-non Blissmiser - ruler of a vast portion of 'Alternate earth #N3-324' has FOUND a dimensional travel device. Because of local stalemate he has decided to invade TME. He has scouted the world in detail and while he respects the 'HEROES' found, he does not see them as a threat - except for DR. STRANGE. TB's place is high in mana but also has advanced technology.

Phase I of attack has been completed. His agents 'Sign of Four' talked 'Purple Haze' and 'Sty' into giving a spontaneous concert in Central Park at the main weak point between TB and TME. The initial power up of the gate 'caused the riot' by driving those closest to it insane. All the one killed were insane as well as most of the severely injured ones (this may be permanent in some of them).

Three of TB's best meta/techo/mages (with several lackeys and many grunts) came thru and used their skills to make thousands of micro gates which they would scatter and expand later to let the entire invasion force thru. Part of the side effect of this process is the increase of mana (and flow of mana into TME). They also managed to TRAP Dr. Strange in his home and turn it into a NO MANA ZONE. (several lackeys now watch it)

Several decoy events were also triggered at this time to draw away the more powerful of NYC protectors. The riot provided 'emotional/PSI' cover for the event. THE PLANNING for this had taken MONTHS.

June 29, 1998 - Sunday

Parent gate is opened. Riot starts;

June 29, 1998 - Monday

1:30 A.M.

Riot ends. Involved several thousand people but was contained. The causality and injury count was high. Police are suspicious.

Bait in Hospital. Under police guard because 'reported' that he had hand in starting riot. Had 3 Spells on him. First two designed to distract investigating Supers so outside induced gas could knock them out.

Third spell was holding off the induced heart attack.
