The Mercenary Mage Guild (MMG) is an International organization of Mages who hire their services out. This is usually for illegal enterprises but from time to time they will take ‘legal’ jobs. The MMG is registered with the Exchange.
They have a wide range of talents and spells. They can be very deadly when they have had time to use ritual magic to prepare for a fight. Also they have members who can be deadly in a one-on-one fight
History Relating to Chicago
2002
In 2002 MMG set up several sights in Chicago and stationed 50 Mages in the Greater Chicago Area. One of the sights was an old abandoned party favor factory. Prior to the events of the Dragon Hunt, they had been in Chicago for two weeks preparing.
On September 28, 2002 MMG went for the two unicorns being kept by Tri-Focus in Chicago. They were only partially successful. They captured and teleported out with just the male unicorn and lost 6 members in the process (2 killed, 4 captured). This left 44 members in the greater Chicago Area.
Team Infinity (TI) took the Unicorn from them. After the Dragon was killed they withdrew completely from Chicago.

Senior Mage – Donald Merrick
He is a gray haired mage seen at the “Farm” where the Male unicorn was held. He left before the unicorn was freed. He is from Germany.
Burton Tagged him with a tracer that Sunday when they Rescued the Unicorn. Merrick discovered the Tracer late that Sunday night when he performed a spell to break all ‘Hooks’ on him.
Senior Mage – Coreen Pardough
Junior Mage – Traci Roddy
This is the mage captured by the team when they freed the Unicorn during the 2002 Dragon Hunt. She was kept on ICE in the medical bay at the TI temp HQ in Chicago until she was turned over to the police.
2006
Twenty members of the MMG were hired to assist the Black Moon Society (BMS) with a task. They did not know it was the BMS – they thought it was a very rich wizard – Merius Magus (aka Manfred Holmes Shepperd) -- an alias for Morgan.
As they smashed the Chicago Black Moon Society Team Infinity Killed or Captured all members of the MMG hired by the BMS.
