Enigma told us that we are going to a world where 3 other groups have been. Pierre was on one of the previous missions. We were to return to the world where the Kennedy’s have been in power since the 60’s, and finally lost the last election to Bush and Carter. We were to protect one Scott Smith, Pam Smith (sister), Frederick Sessions, and the rest of the leaders of the Cabal that is leading the country to a true democracy. We were given travel papers to travel from state to state, pictures of the 3 people, and were setup as ex-military so we could have carry permits, and cash. We were also told that the Scott’s also had some Meta abilities. We were also informed that a larger than normal amount of people were missing in and around Atlanta.
We arrived in the Atlanta airport on Saturday December the 8th, 1984, at 8:00 am local time; Just 1 month after the last group was here. We arrived in the restrooms (gender appropriate) Reg was not a member of the mission yet. We met up in the main concourse and Jessica went to procure a Van. Pierre thought he saw someone that he recognized, and went to investigate with Strawberry tailing him. Pierre passed 4 soldiers. Pierre recognized the lieutenant as one lieutenant Moreau, who was in charge of the Special Forces group that was embarrassed during Pierre’s last trip to this world. The four soldiers then left the airport.
Jessica found a phone book to see if we could find a phone number for any of the three leaders. We were given a work number and address for Scott and Pam, no listing for Frederick. There were many listings for Scott Smith and Pam Smith. We found a pair that had the same first three digits in their phone numbers and made note of them. Scott worked for IBM and Pam was an elementary school teacher. Since it was the weekend we tried Scot’s work and were put through to his voicemail. We then call the Scott Smith we found in the phone book, and it was the same voice. Jessica informed him that we were friends of Reg Meyers, and were sent here and needed to find him. Given the hour he suggested a restaurant to meat him at for breakfast. The reservation was listed under his name.
So, we piled into the van and headed down town. Strawberry asked to be dropped off a couple of blocks away so he could get his motorcycle out of his black hole. Upon doing so he realized that he had Hawaii plates on the bike and realized that in a country where you need papers to travel from state to state, that might be a little out of place. So he took his digital camera and found a local bike and took shots of their license plates. He then used the simulator and an old mess kit to produce local plates. Dr. Durden also asked to be dropped off so he could enter separately. Meanwhile…Jessica and company parked the van in a parking garage (Daisy stayed in the van), and entered the restaurant. Jessica informed the hostess that they were with the Scott Smith Party. The Hostess handed Jessica a note and then seated the party. Dr Durden also entered and was seated in a different section. After everyone had ordered, Jessica read the note that said Smith apologized but could not make it, and left an address of a safe house to meat at after our meal. Having parked his motorcycle in the parking garage near the van, Strawberry entered the restaurant. He noticed that Jessica and party were alone and had left 2 seats available, so informed the hostess that he was with that party. As he was entering, he saw the waitress from Dr Durden’s section use a small classic "spy" camera to snap a picture of the group at the table. Jake also saw this.
The waitress then started to move towards the kitchen. Strawberry started to get her attention by asking out loud if she was their waitress and he wanted to order now. The real wait staff came over to appease him. Jake got up and headed towards the restroom, via near the kitchen. Jake glanced in the window of the kitchen door, and saw the waitress give the camera to what looked to be a currier. Jake then entered the kitchen and side stepped the waitress that tried to get into his way. The currier did not notice Jake, and jumped on his motorcycle and got ready to take off. Jake proceeded to wrap a chain around the currier’s head, and pull him off the bike. Jake then stepped on his throat to keep him from speaking, and duct tapped his mouth, and hands. Jake then put the currier on the bike in front of him and drove to the van. He put the bike into the van, then the currier and told Daisy to watch him.
While Jake was gone, Pierre picked the pocket of the waitress and got her clutch purse. He then proceeded to the restroom and found out who she was. He then destroyed her ID papers, and left the wallet in the men’s bathroom. The food then arrived and Strawberry ate his own and Jakes breakfast. Jake arrived and seconds were ordered for both of them. They decided to head out to the safe house after the meal. Strawberry headed out directly to the safe house to get a lay of the neighborhood, meanwhile Jake took the plates off the currier’s bike to attach to his own. The currier’s bike was left in the parking garage. Pierre plotted a roundabout way to the safe house to give Jessica time to question the currier. The Currier was really calm given the situation. Jessica found out his identity and he claimed to be a "Meyer’s man" when asked Jessica found out that Reg was on the same mission that Pierre was on and kind of lead the mission that saved the leaders of the group to re-establish democracy in the states. The followers of democracy decided to call themselves Meyer’s men. Jessica also hypnotized the currier (Dr Durden was also put under…he was paying a little too much attention). Jessica found out that he knows the waitress and sometimes did some work for her. He was to deliver the camera to the safe house. Jake stopped the van a little bit away from the house. Strawberry drove around the block once and waited for the van to arrive. Strawberry then drive up the driveway and pointedly noticed the person looking out the window on the top floor. He then parked out back and knock on the back door. A lady answered the door. Much to her surprise Strawberry greeted her by saying "hello Pam". Pam Scott was a little surprised at this. She asked Strawberry what he knows of Reg, and he answered that he was a companion of Reg Meyers. She then said that she was expecting a woman, and Strawberry said we were also expecting Scott for breakfast. Pam then invited Strawberry in to the house. Strawberry asked if her companions were going to "play games" when he entered; He then proceeded to open his duster and show that he was definitely not unarmed; or if it was safe to bring in the rest of the group. Pam indicated that none of her companions would start anything. Strawberry then informed Jake to come on in. Strawberry followed Pam into the house. And waited for the rest to arrive.
After everyone arrived, and the currier was given over for care, introductions were made and Frederick came downstairs. We informed them that we were here to stop a plot against their lives sometime this weekend from another group of time travelers. Also we asked about the missing people issue. Frederick said that he had a contact in the Police department and that it was unpublished that some of the bodies were found without heads. Jake and Jessica started comparing notes on different Occult possibilities, like zombies and skull spirits. Jake asked if there was a room he could use for a moment, and was told there was a bedroom on the first floor. Strawberry said, "don’t take this the wrong way, but do you mind if I join you?" That got some strange looks fro the trio. Jake and Strawberry put up their black holes and proceeded to arm themselves. Jake and Strawberry also loaded hollow points into all the weapons, "better for zombies" Jake told him. Jake and Strawberry returned to the group, and gave Jessica an M16.
About this time Reg popped into the bathroom of the house. He heard voices, some of which he recognized, including Scott Smith. He then tried to sneak down the hall. He was heard by several people and was greeted, when he walked in, to the barrel of Strawberry’s sniper rifle. He glanced at strawberry and then ignored him...figuring that if strawberry wanted to kill him he would have already. We all talked about the different possibilities and decided that Scott, Pam and Frederick should continue with their plans for today. Jessica and Pierre would accompany Pam to the school for some parent/teacher conferences; Dr Durden and Jake would accompany Scott to work, Reg would stay with Frederick, who was in charge of the security for the organization; and Strawberry would borrow Frederick’s Car and check out the meeting place for tonight’s meeting. Reg had Frederick check on Lt Moreau and anyone else from the Special Forces that they embarrassed last time. Lt Moreau Still held the rank of LT after 8 years and was now a part of the regular army in charge of guarding the Airport. Another member of the Special Forces unit was Larry Pardin. Larry ended up being a homeless person after he was dishonorably discharged in 1980. A few months ago he resurfaced in Atlanta running a homeless shelter called the "Guiding Light."
The trip to IBM was uneventful. The school trip was also uneventful, even though some of the meetings were used to pass information with other Meyer’s men.
During this time the observers of the meeting sight called in that someone was snooping around the building. Strawberry wandered around the outside of the building until he was sure he was noticed. And then entered. He then proceeded up to the roof rather then down to the fallout shelter that was to be the meeting place. Strawberry opened the roof door and stayed in the stairwell. He heard someone off to the right and peaked around the corner. The person was out of sight. Strawberry then said, "You are kind of noisy" and proceeded to tell the guard that if he could make it all the way up to the roof un-accosted, that his security measures sucked. The guard said that they monitored him the whole way and that he didn’t think that someone going up would be able to harm the fallout shelter. Strawberry asked if he had ever seen a building imploded before. The guard countered back with, "that imploding a building takes hundreds of placed charges." Strawberry asked, "what if the person did not care about collateral damage and injuries?"… He made his point. Strawberry also suggested that they double their guards and replace the one outside they were too obvious in the way they did things. The guard checked in with his point of contact for security, which happened to be Frederick. The guard asked Strawberry for verification, what was Reg Meyers real first name. Strawberry told him Reginald. Lucky for Strawberry that is what Reg told Frederick, Scott, and Pam. Reg then told Strawberry about the "Guiding light". Strawberry had the guard check all shipments that came in over the last couple of weeks that have not been dispersed to have them opened and checked. And human remains, especially skulls, should be immediately destroyed. Strawberry decided that he had enough fun and was going to checkout the homeless shelter.
The Two other parties decided to start heading back to the safe house. Strawberry parked his car across the street and down the block a little. After a while a white van pulled into the alley and saw LT Moreau get out of the van. Strawberry then got out of the car and walked down the street to get a better view. There were two other people helping Moreau load what appeared to be body bags into the van. Strawberry called in on the radio, and it was suggested that we follow them rather then subdue them. Strawberry followed them south, which was the direction of the airport. Strawberry followed the van, and the other two cars converged toward the airport where LT Moreau was station at a base there. The van pulled off course to the base and into a run-down neighborhood, and stopped at an old dance hall. Strawberry stopped a couple blocks down, and saw at least one guard on the roof. The others arrived and stopped a couple blocks down on the other side of the building from Strawberry. Jake successfully snuck up to the building. And proceeded to climb. Reg told Strawberry that one of Scott’s Meta skills is to copy someone else’s abilities, so Strawberry put up his black hole and retrieved another rifle. He then drove over to where Scott and the others were. Jake made it to the top of the building un-noticed and dispatched the first guard.
About this time Strawberry gave Scott the rifle and told him that he was really good with on of these. Scott concentrated a little and said thanks. Jake then snuck over to the second guard, passing the skylight and noticed a huge lens inside the building. After dispatching the last guard, he got dizzy and passed out. Dr Durden and Strawberry noticed something that looked like a sled had appeared just over the roof and a man aim something downward, and then disappear. Jake could no longer be reached. Strawberry and Dr Durden then started heading toward the building on one side. Jessica and Pierre were approaching toward the rear to get to the ladder for roof access. Half way to the building Strawberry decided to forget sneaking and just started walking briskly toward the building, with Dr Durden following. Dr, Durden saw what appeared to be the same sled appear over Strawberry and a man fire something down. Strawberry kind of shook his head and looked up. Strawberry then brought his rifle to his shoulder and put a 50 caliber round into the hand he saw holding a tube-like device. The sled then disappeared, and Strawberry caught the object that fell, a stunner of some sort presumably. Strawberry and Dr Durden then rushed the rest of the way to the building. Jessica and Pierre made it to the top of the building and revived Jake.
Strawberry and Dr Durden saw that the building had a glass front, with a "lobby" behind the glass door. The back of the "lobby" was created with large portable furniture walls. Strawberry asked over the net if anyone was in the building yet. Jake said not yet and jumped through the skylight and crashed through the huge lens. Pierre, not to be out-done, jumped after him. Jessica shook her head and took up a firing position at the now open skylight. Jake tucked and rolled and landed on his feet, and Pierre performed a magnificent acrobatic maneuver and landed with a flourish next to Jake( just ask him for a detailed account of the situation). While the roof-top entry was happening Strawberry asked Dr Durden if he could pick locks, and the good doc drew his hand gun and shot the lock out of the door. After hearing the gunshot and the loud crashing sound, Strawberry ran in and off to the right to get around the portable partition. Dr Durden ran full speed into the partition to try and knock the wall down…Dr Durden is not a big man; needless to say, he bounced. Fortunately he did manage to land on his feet. Jake and Pierre now noticed that they landed facing the front of the building in the middle of a very large pentagram. This is what they saw. To the left there was a pedestal with a white skull in it. Behind the pedestal was a large pile of human skulls. In front of them there were 4 soldiers 2 facing the front of the building and 2 facing toward the pentagram. To the right of the 4 was another man. Off to the right there was a man dressed in slacks and polo style shirt that was behind a book on another pedestal. Pierre was slightly behind and on Jake’s right. Pierre shot the man in the middle. Jake with M16 in hand strafed a full auto burst across the 4 soldiers, killing and knocking down all 4. Next, Strawberry made it around the corner of the partition and saw only the man at the book standing and put a put a 50 cal round through his chest.
Jake and Pierre hear some noise behind them about the same time we hear Jessica yell, "ZOMBIES". Dr Durden makes it around the partition now and all 4 men see 12 zombies on the other side of the room, starting to amble towards them. Behind them is Lt Moreau; he is holding his arm out with what appear to be bone keys in his hand. Jake, Pierre, and Dr Durden all take some shots at zombies. Lt. Moreau drops the keys and Jessica sees him make a jester with his other hand. Jessica thinks it looks like when a mage puts up missile shield. Strawberry does not see the gesture that Lt Moreau makes, and takes a shot at him. The shot confirms to Jessica, and Strawberry now realizes, that he did cast missile shield. The bone keys turn into skeletons. Jake is now using his shotgun with chain load. Dr Durden fires a laser and fries Lt Moreau. After Lt Moreau died the zombies stopped and the skeletons crumbled. Strawberry went over and picked up the book. Dr Durden recognizes it as a magical tome of some sort. Jake searched the back rooms and found more zombies that were not currently controlled and several bodies that were not animated yet. Jake wanted to start cutting off their heads, but Jessica contacted Pam and Scott, who we left at the cars, and asked about police response. Pam, Scott and Jessica started hearing sirens, and let the 4 in the building know that we had only a few minutes to get out of here. Jake was disappointed that we could not destroy the other zombies and straw berry asked if he wanted to use a couple of fragment grenades. Jake said that would work, and proceeds to let them off in the back room. Strawberry asked Jake about the skull on the pedestal and wanted to know if they should take it also. Jake recognized the skull as an artifact used to make skull spirits and destroyed the skull with his shotgun. Jessica had Pam and Scott pull the cars around, and Strawberry said, "everyone out" and rolled a grenade into the pile of skulls and placed one directly onto the outline of the pentagram. Then ran like hell to his own car. Everyone started to head back to the safe house, and it was decided to pay Lt Moreau’s partner Larry Pardin a visit at the Guiding Light homeless shelter, since that seem to be the supply house for the bodies. Dr Durden and Jake accompanied Strawberry.
Everyone else went back to the safe house. Upon arriving at the guiding light, Strawberry told Jake that he was about to do something rash, so Jake entered though the front door and Strawberry walked in directly behind him. Pardin and 2 other men, who looked like soldiers out of uniform, were handing out food to the needy. Jake, was armed, but did not have any weapons in his hands. Strawberry was openly carrying his sniper rifle, and using Jake to shield it from Pardin. Pardin and the two men with him did not seem to notice the weapon. Jake proceeded past the food line and headed towards the back rooms of the building. Pardin told Jake he could not go back there, and moved to intercept him. Strawberry said out loud "Larry Pardin?" and raised his rifle. Pardin turned in the direction of where he heard his name. Jake stopped, and Strawberry placed the barrel of his rifle on Pardin’s forehead, and backed him against the wall. Pardin’s two men started to move around to flank Jake and Strawberry. Jake didn’t want this to happen so he fast drew his pistol and shot them both. Strawberry told Pardin to say hi to Moreau and pulled the trigger.
Jake headed towards the back rooms and found more bodies. Jake and Strawberry decided that they were poisoning the people here to use as zombies. Jake spilled the food onto the floor and strawberry took out several thousand dollars and said, "go get some real food" and passed out the money. Dr Durden drove Jake and Strawberry back to the safe house. After everyone was gathered, Reg heard in his head that we were leaving in 2 minutes. Reg had Scott go and get Frederick. Reg, on the previous mission to this planet told Scott that his group was time/dimension travelers. Scott saw that group leave and believed what Reg said. Scott had told Pam and Frederick, but they really did not believe in time/dimension travelers. Reg wanted to make sure Frederick and Pam saw us leave this time. Reg showed Scott his Amulet and told Scott to watch for anyone who had a black amulet that looked similar to his. Those people were definitely the enemy. After that, we popped.
No one was hurt so everyone appeared in the lobby of the hotel. Drinks were started at the bar. Strawberry went to Enigma’s office to find out if the book came back with the group. Enigma said that the book came back, but is being checked out first. The book contained time control spells along with some necromancer-type spells. He would determine if such a book would be allowed in the agent’s hands. Strawberry asked if Enigma would allow the book, could he be the one to get the book. Enigma agreed that if he allowed it, Strawberry would get the book to do as he pleases, since he brought it back. Strawberry thanked Enigma and joined in the festivities at the bar.
