In the world she came from, Valerie was often mistaken for her sister, the famous actress Vanessa Vaughn. In our world and many others, she could be mistaken for a taller version of the famous actress Halle Berry.

Valerie, a Hollywood stuntwoman, landed in Enigma's conference room after a pyrotechnic special effect exploded prematurely. She was assigned to a roving team along with Jeremiah Trust, Max Whittle, Argus Armstrong, Vicente Carbone, and Rick Jorg.

The others think Valerie's “a little cracked” because she seems to believe this IS gig is some elaborate movie set with Enigma as the director, and these so-called missions are improvised scripts. Are they so sure she's wrong?

Valerie Violet Vaughn
Born: November 28, 1984 Died: July 7, 2007
Parents: John Kennedy Vaughn, Darlene Nichole Collins Vaughn
Siblings: One sister, Vanessa Victoria Vaughn
Hometown: Los Angeles, California

Valerie is the younger sister of superstar actress Vanessa Vaughn. While quite lovely and talented in her own right, Valerie has lived her entire life in her sister's shadow. Valerie's father Jack died in a car accident when she was six years old. Her mother Darlene is very much Vanessa's doting "stage mom" and pays little attention to her younger daughter. Vanessa loves her sister, but her own life is so orchestrated and manipulated by other people that she is unable to spend time with Valerie.

Valerie dropped out of high school at age 16 to work full-time as a stuntwoman. She wishes she would have gotten her diploma, but she feels she's "too stupid" to go back to school. Valerie frequently appears, usually uncredited, as her sister's body double in her films. She is in great demand as a stuntwoman due to her physical gifts and her willingness to attempt any stunt, no matter how dangerous. She has also become quite expert with explosives and pyrotechnics.

Valerie feels insignificant, so she resorts to risk-taking to help her feel alive. She has experimented a few times with various drugs, but for her nothing can substitute for the rush of adrenaline. She is not suicidal, but she seems impervious to pain and indifferent to the possibility of her own death. Some may get the impression she's either snobbish or slow-witted because she is slow to react to them. The truth is that she feels most people speak to her only because they've mistaken her for Vanessa, so she ignores them, figuring they'll soon realize their mistake; over time this has become a reflexive reaction.

Valerie was caught in a misfire of a pyrotechnic effect and (would have) died in the aftermath.
