Chicago:Characters:Apollos

Think of all the times you ever had a fight with you parents. Now imagine that you parents are gods and that you father is not only supposed to be the incarnation of reason but also has a history of tragicly flawed relationships. Now imagine that you sprung forth fully formed from that same fathers loins. How do you think you would get along with him? Top that off with the fact that no one will tell you which one of the other gods is you mother and you get one result.

Apollos

This young God may seem rash, arrogant, and slightly conceited but that's because he is. Lets all be honest if you were the son of the second most powerful being in the cosmos wouldn't you be also. Apollos is a young man torn between who he was meant to be and who he wants to be. In his world the Greek culture never declined and thanks to the protection of their gods they thrived and spread across the globe. When they ran up against other cultures with equally powerful dieties the battle that ensued between the gods where frigtening and intense. However when the smoke cleared the Grecian Gods alwas stood supreme. With the world firmly in their grasp human society quickly attained peace in their time. Wars would sprin up from time to time, Ares would get bored and complain otherwise, but overall humanity prospered and praised the gods for it.

The Gods however were not content and slowly over time they became aware that the were other worlds around them. At first they could only see them but then Hermes god of travel found a way to open the veil between the worlds. The first attempt to travel into and assume control of another world was met with disaster. Aries and Hades were almost destroyed and many minor dieties did not return. In their own world they were immortals but in the worlds they traveled to they found thier powers limited and there lives in jeoperdy. They needed a plan.

So for the first time in their history the greek gods set about breeding newer and more powerful young gods and so the New Olympians were born. Apollo with his conection to the oracle was incharge of the project and wanted to assure that his offspring would be the most powerful and so rather than breeding for the traits that he was supposed to he instead bred for sheer power and skill. The oracle had three results for powerful matches Hera, Maia, and Aphrodite. And from these unions three children sprang forth. Two daughters Hexra and Libratia and a son whom Apollo claimed and named for himself.

The new godlings manifested a wider varity of powers with few of the resulting weaknesses that their parents had. They did not worshipers to follow them and they were less dependant on ambrosia. However they were young and their powers were not fully formed.

Apollos son of Apollo was everthing his father wanted him to be in most ways strong fast and ruthless. That is until he fell in with Dionysus and Hermes. Dionysus taught Apollos some of the finer points that could be enjoyed in life and Heremes was delighted to have someone who could keep up with him. When Apollo found out that two of the elder gods had been negitivly influencing his pride and joy he flipped out. But rather than take his anger out on the two elder gods he tried to punish his sun. When this happend Apollos left his fathers tutalage in favor of that of Hermes and Dionysus for a few years. When he finally returned to his father he had lost all of the coldness and ruthlessnes that had made him so special to his father and had turned into pretty much a spoiled frat boy. He stayed out partying for months at a time and then would show up stagering drunk at family parties(not that most of the other gods didn't also but Apollo did not aprove). So when the time came to send out the young champions of tommorow Apollos was at the front of the line. He personlly didn't care to take over anything but if it would get him away from dad it would suit him just fine.

Since ariving unannounced in E.Nigma' conference room Apollos who goes by the name Kelsy Mcculagh has take quite a shine to the new world he is in. But he knows that he is supposed to be here as a conquerer and that if his new friends found out, they might not appriciate it.
