It has been quiet supernaturally since I helped the ghost of that cowboy, Doc Holiday I think it was, chase off those ‘land grabbers’.
The dream I had of all the destruction on Sunday seemed catastrophically prophetic. I later learned that just about anyone with even a smidge of the sight had a version of the dream. Taking it seriously I did some looking into it. It seemed like in the dream most of residents of the DFW and areas surrounding left their bodies for a period of time causing quite a few disasters and I suspect a certain percentage of those bodies were then possessed by either demons or vengeful spirits. With many clients seeking reassurance after these dreams, I researched some Santerían rituals that should provide some protection and encouraged most with fears of the coming Harvest moon to be especially diligent in their use the morning after the moon. If nothing else should reduce the number of people actively doing something dangerous and a focused frame of mind, if they do experience an out of body experience on that day. It wasn’t obvious what the source of the event could be, but Mr. Rahl, who had also had the dream. I later learned he can see into the spectrum beyond normal, contacted me about a reading and asked some questions about Seirra Madre healing crystals and the vision/dreams. Admittedly healing crystals aren’t something I have studied extensively in the past, so I am not sure how much help I was. It also occurred to me that Rahl investigations was working with the FBI at Scarborough Faire when those odd events occurred. Suspecting the kind of Rahk takes a personal interest in, I researched Seirra Madre crystals. They are actually fairly common crystal, and can be acquired in fairly large quantities if quality isn’t an issue. Also looking at the dates for the next Harvest/Blood moon, it appears the event would like happen during the state fair. In one of the exhibit halls, there is scheduled to be an exhibit about Sierra Madre, including what is supposed to be an impressive showing of crystals from the region. At first I fear some vengeful spirts bound in the these crystal or perhaps a remnant of an immortal creature or demon, but further conversations with Rahl, it appears it merely Human Pataziti. Why some people can only look at the wonderful expanse of the supernatural and see only ways to subvert or harm their fellow man I do not know.
Knowing how small the community of believers is I spent a few nights out socializing asking questions. Discovered a new group was in town a mixture of North Eastern witches and Cajun Voodooists. One of the people who came for a reading during this time had a vision of a 13 on the red moon dripping with blood. Doing a little online research and speaking with Rahl, this appears to be a Black coven, 13 members worship the devil etc. Later Rahl and Burnett would be able to associate members of this Coven with some unusual deaths that happened on the night of the blood moon visions, as well as Amber Investigation, Foggy Bottom Investigations and Hex investments. Most of the coven was found to be staying in the Obsidian Suites hotel downtown. I thought Rahl and/or Burnett would go roust the group from the hotel but apparently they became distracted with other things. I ran afoul of Amber Investigations as they started asking questions about me and Hector around the neighborhood. Most of the neighborhood being less than trusting of police or anything that seems like an authority figure were fairly closed mouthed and several warned me of their interest. Mr. Drake came for a reading that led to an appointment to cleanse their house, apparently since the vision strange things had been happening. I went to the house and found the Grandmother and son to be psychics of some sort. After speaking with the family I had a strong suspicion some minor entity had attached itself to the household, and was taking advantage of their agitation and untapped powers. I got the family set up doing some protective prayers while I did what I could to try and spot the invading spirit. I had narrowed it down to a handful of possible items when a ruckus broke out in front of the house. Rahl and Burnett had apparently both been ‘tricked’ into coming to the Drake’s house to be ambushed by what they later found out was members of Amber investigations. Burnett was injured during this scuffle and apparently possessed by the demon (little d, not one of the greater manifestations.) Some of their ambushers rushed the house for unknown reasons. I managed to deter some and get the front door locked while the family hid in the bathroom. Bullets were shot through the front door, luckily no one inside was hit. I gathered up the items I suspected of being potential anchor points for the demon and fled to the kitchen to check the back entrance and look at them closer. I found nothing suspicious going on at the back door so had time to examine the items closer after surrounding them with a cleansing circle of salt. I found an odd little jackalope fetish was the home to the demon. Since it showed aversion to holy items I wrapped in a cloth soaked in holy water and bound it with prayer beads before stuffing it into my purse. I checked in with the family they all were safe if a little frightened huddled in the bathroom. They were on the phone with 911, I spoke with them, saying I thought I had found source of their haunting and was going to remove it. The Jackalope was apparently something the wife had picked up sometime in the past on a whim. I exited the house and spoke with Rahl and Burnett, they were convinced the group attacking them was also after me but that didn’t make a lot of sense. If you have some with an long arm willing to kill people why invite a PI and FBI agent to the location to take someone who would be an easy target otherwise. Why at a client’s house that wasn’t even surrounded than in my own neighborhood where gunshots are common?
After returning home I found evidence that someone had broken into the house. I couldn’t find where they had actually taken anything and it didn’t appear like they were able to break into my locked storage room. Went and picked up Hector from the neighbor that was watching him. Spoke with Hector about Amber investigations nosing around about us and that someone had been in the house. I walked Hector to school the next day and went to pick him up after before finishing my last couple of readings for the day. Hector had mentioned he hadn’t seen any Investigation people but that some kid named Caesar had been sizing him up like he might be worth some money. Trying to figure out if Caesar was another weird result of Circle 13 or just some kind of school shenanigan, found he was from a family mostly down on their luck with a father more unemployed than employed, but had recently gotten a job at a new age store nearby called One Moon. Rahl called late in the afternoon. Asked a few questions, I asked if he had taken care of the problem at Obsidian Suites, he said he had not gotten around to that yet, I mentioned again the issues with Amber investigations and that they had apparently broken into my house, as well as possible issue with One Moon being a possible local source for the crystals Circle 13 seemed desperate for. Decided to take Hector out to dinner, on the way to the restaurant we talked more, I spotted that boy Caesar and a couple more boys following us. Poor Caesar too busy watching us ran out into traffic and got hit by a car. We had dinner and decided to swing by One Moon. I thought I might want to talk to Caesar’s father. When we got there mister Rahl was buying some crystals to annoy what turned out to be a member of Circle 13. We also spotted a second member there as well and confirmed the Caesar’s father was working with/for them in some fashion. Rahl’s muscle followed one of the rattled coven members back to Obsidian Suites. Rahl offered us a ride home since there was some many potential threats in the area. Before we headed home, Rahl called the head of Amber Investigations and spoke with him at length eventually bringing Burnett into the conversation as well. Seem like the head of Amber is in the wind, pulled up roots and ran. Whether that means he is directly tied to Circle 13 or just so well paid it made it worth retiring I don’t know, but I know I would love speaking with in person. Spent the night with Hector playing video games and hanging out. Saturday is a new day, have to decide if I need to arrange for something further to be done with the Circle 13 folk or if I should just stop stirring the pot and let the situation cool down a bit .
